Apple Arcade Adding These New Games in May

Apple today revealed three new games coming to Apple Arcade on May 2, including retro 2D pixelated platforming game A Slight Chance of Sawblades+, rogue-like game Dicey Dungeons+, and match-three puzzle game Summer Pop+. All games available on Apple Arcade are ad-free and do not offer in-app purchases.

Apple Arcade new games hero
Apple Arcade gained three new games on the iPhone and iPad last week, including Sega's Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop. The service recently added new games on the Vision Pro headset too, including endless runner Alto's Odyssey: The Lost City, hand-drawn adventure game Gibbon: Beyond the Trees, and physics-based puzzler Spire Blast. Apple Arcade game Crossy Road Castle will also be expanding to the Vision Pro on April 25.

Accessible through the App Store, Apple Arcade is a subscription-based service that provides access to hundreds of games across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro, all free of ads and in-app purchases. The service received its first price increase last year, with U.S. pricing rising from $4.99 to $6.99 per month.

I wonder if the strategy with Apple Arcade is more focused on kids under the age of 10. Since parents that sign up for Apple One get it for the entire family, I could see this working well from that standpoint.....otherwise not so much...
I have kids under 10 (8 and 9) and I can tell you with 100% certainty that I will approve the install of an app from Apple Arcade way before I will from the regular App Store. The amount of garbage with popup adds and micro transactions is insane. But games from Apple Arcade are quality games (mostly) without any of the garbage I need to worry about or manage.

They’re clearly not even trying anymore. It’s hard to believe that the quality of Arcade games has gotten worse over time instead of better. My decision to cancel Apple One after the last price increase looks better and better.

Awful... just awful. Now it's just only 3 new games each month... and none of which are for Apple TV or macOS... and to think it's now $6.99 per month...

What is the deal with these stupid ‘+’ games. I specifically refuse to download or play them because of this in the title alone. Feels like some garbage ass android attempt to steal my data.
It's what developers do to distinguish their games that are free in the Apple Arcade area VS the normal game that is still for sale in the App Store. For example, "+" games have no in-app purchases and instead come with all of those features already unlocked.

Might feel like "some garbage ass android attempt to steal your data" but it is not.
